That's not a pretty number folks. I knew that it would not be great. My body does not respond well to air travel or to being out of my food and exercise routine. When I saw this number my first thought was that I had two options.
1. Give up completely.
2. Go to extremes.
I sat with those options for a few hours and then gave myself a mental slap upside the head. Neither of those options are going to help me reach my ultimate goals. Because, really, this is not about the 10 week challenge. It's about changing some habits and making progress towards my goal weight. So here I stand, four weeks from the end of my challenge with 14 pounds to lose. The odds are not great.
But my best option overall is to simply make the best choices I can going forward. To get back to tracking my food on My Fitness Pal. To make an effort to be active each and every day. To recommit to my water bottle. I may not reach my challenge goal but if I do these things consistently (not even perfectly!) then in 4 weeks I will be further ahead than I am now.
Travelling affects me in the exact same way unless I drink gallons of water. Water, water and more water is defintiely important all the time. Hope the next few weeks go well for you, all you can do is try your very best and whatvever you do will be so much better than doing nothing at all.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the pondering. I have to get back on the wagon significantly myself. You are a brave, brave soul!
ReplyDeleteDon't give up. Even if you don't reach your goal, you are making efforts to make changes in your life.
ReplyDeleteevery day is a new day. Cliche, but true. You can do it
ReplyDeleteStart a 1 day diet (and no it's not an extreme diet) it's where you start off each day with a clean slate and do your best to stick to your eating and activity goals as perfectly as you can. If you have a good day then try again tomorrow for a 2 day streak, then a 3 day streak, but if you have a bad day just try again tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteChanging attitudes and habits is the absolute hardest part

Be compassionate for really that is all we should be - to each other and to ourselves.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your weight loss this year! Slow and steady. You are talking about a life time not a one time fix.
ReplyDeleteI always see it as it took me long time to get this way so its going to take a while to get rid of it. Mood luck and keep going for sure. I like snapshotsandwhatnots advice!
